Summary of the Culinary Tour

  • Day 1 – Arrival to Negombo

  • Day 2 – Visit Negombo Fish Market and decide on your culinary tour lunch menu. Transfer to Wilpattu. Dinner Safari on the border of the Wilpattu National Park and spend couple of hours in a real-world tree hut.

  • Day 3 –  Transfer to Anuradhapura. Train Ride from Anuradhapura to Jaffna, enjoying the best food experiences along the way.

  • Day 4 – Full Day exploring Jaffna and different food culture. As you are in the Tamil territory, the culture and cuisine are a little different from your previous stages, but the culinary tour is no less exciting.

  • Day 5 –  Jaffna to Anuradhapura by train. Visit Anuradhapura Historical Site.

  • Day 6 – Village Excursion in Anuradhapura. Transfer to Sigiriya. Expect to discover more exciting cuisine on this part of your culinary tour.

  • Day 7 – Transfer to Kandy via Dambulla and Matale. Visit the local wholesale fruit and vegetable market in Dambulla. Visit a Spice and Herbal Garden in Matale.

  • Day 8 – To enhance your Food experience Sri Lanka, visit a market and a cooking class in Kandy. Experience the majesty of the Temple of Tooth Relic and enjoy a cultural show in the evening.

  • Day 9 – Train Ride from Kandy to Nanu Oya. Transfer to Nuwara Eliya from Nanu Oya.

  • Day 10 – Transfer to Haputale. Visit fruit and vegetable market in Bandarawela and experience the local cuisine of the area. Tuk-Tuk ride to Lipton Seat and Tea Plucking Community. Enjoy a local lunch.

  • Day 11 – Transfer to Udawalawe. Experience an exciting jeep safari in Udawalawe National Park in the evening.

  • Day 12 – Visit the Elephant Transit Home in Udawalawe by 9.00am. Transfer to Galle. Cycling tour in Galle including a village home visit and preparation of a signature fish curry known as ‘ambulthiyal’. This has a delicious and slightly tangy taste, is an excellent accompaniment to the meal of rice and is a must-try on your culinary tour.

  • Day 13 – Visit Galle Dutch Fort with a one-of-a-kind host who has a delightfully infectious personality. Transfer to Colombo. Enjoy a mouth-watering dinner at the ‘Ministry of Crab’
